Quasinormal modes of gravitational perturbation around a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessence
Yu Zhang, Y X Gui

TL;DR
This paper investigates how the presence of quintessence affects the quasinormal modes of gravitational perturbations around a Schwarzschild black hole, showing that quintessence causes slower damping of gravitational waves.
Contribution
It introduces a third-order WKB method application to analyze gravitational perturbations in a black hole surrounded by quintessence, highlighting the impact on wave damping.
Findings
Quasinormal modes are affected by quintessence.
Gravitational wave damping is slower with quintessence.
Third-order WKB approximation effectively evaluates these modes.
Abstract
In this paper, the quasinormal modes of gravitational perturbation around a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessence were evaluated by using the third-order WKB approximation. Due to the presence of quintessence, the gravitational wave damps more slowly.
