Charges and the boundary in Chern Simons gravity
Rodrigo Aros

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new boundary condition framework for Chern-Simons gravity that ensures gauge invariance and reproduces black hole thermodynamics, revealing a Virasoro algebra of charges at the horizon.
Contribution
It proposes a novel set of boundary conditions for Chern-Simons gravity that guarantees gauge invariance and captures key thermodynamic and algebraic properties of black holes.
Findings
Reproduces standard black hole thermodynamics
Establishes Virasoro algebra of charges at the horizon
Ensures gauge invariance of the action
Abstract
In this work a new set of boundary conditions for Chern Simons gravity that lead to a fully gauge invariant action is analyzed. This particular form of the action reproduces the standard results of black hole thermodynamics and determines that the algebra of charges of diffeomorphisms at the horizon be the Virasoro algebra.
