Irving Segal's axiomatization of spacetime and its cosmological consequences
Aubert Daigneault (Universite de Montreal, Canada)

TL;DR
This paper re-examines Irving Segal's axioms for mathematical cosmology, establishing his redshift formula and energy conservation in the Einstein universe based on his axioms.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of Segal's axioms and rigorously derives key cosmological results within his framework.
Findings
Segal's redshift formula is derived from his axioms.
Energy conservation in the Einstein universe is established.
The axiomatic approach clarifies foundational aspects of cosmology.
Abstract
Irving Ezra Segal (1918-1998) has proposed some axioms for mathematical cosmology. These are here re-examined and Segal's redshift formula and energy conservation in the Einstein universe are established in full on their basis. A detailed table of contents appears at the end.
