Quantum gravity as a group field theory: a sketch
Daniele Oriti

TL;DR
This paper introduces the group field theory approach to quantum gravity, extending matrix models to higher dimensions and connecting with spin foam models, offering a new framework for understanding quantum spacetime.
Contribution
It presents a concise overview of group field theory as a novel approach to quantum gravity, bridging matrix models and spin foam research.
Findings
Group field theory generalizes matrix models to higher dimensions.
Connects spin foam models with quantum gravity frameworks.
Provides a foundation for future research in quantum spacetime.
Abstract
We give a very brief introduction to the group field theory approach to quantum gravity, a generalisation of matrix models for 2-dimensional quantum gravity to higher dimension, that has emerged recently from research in spin foam models.
