TL;DR
This paper characterizes all phase space functions for polarized Gowdy 3-torus spacetimes that weakly commute with the Hamiltonian and momentum constraints, aiding in understanding their observable structure.
Contribution
It provides an explicit description of observables in the polarized Gowdy 3-torus model, clarifying their algebraic properties and constraint relations.
Findings
Identified all functions with weakly vanishing Poisson brackets with constraints.
Clarified the structure of physical observables in the model.
Enhanced understanding of the phase space in polarized Gowdy spacetimes.
Abstract
We give an explicit characterization of all functions on the phase space for the polarized Gowdy 3-torus spacetimes which have weakly vanishing Poisson brackets with the Hamiltonian and momentum constraint functions.
