A. Fuster, J.W. van Holten

TL;DR
This paper constructs two classes of exact type III solutions to the four-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills equations, involving non-abelian plane waves in Kundt spacetimes, and explores their properties and reductions.
Contribution
It introduces new exact solutions of the Einstein-Yang-Mills system with type III algebraic structure, expanding the known solution space.
Findings
Solutions are embeddings of non-abelian plane waves in Kundt spacetimes.
Reduction to type N yields generalized pp and Kundt waves.
Geodesic equations are briefly analyzed.
Abstract
We construct two distinct classes of exact type III solutions of the D=4 Einstein-Yang-Mills system. The solutions are embeddings of the non-abelian plane waves in spacetimes in Kundt's class. Reduction of the solutions to type N leads to generalized and Kundt waves. The geodesic equations are briefly discussed.
