TL;DR
This paper explores the Newtonian limits of warp drive spacetimes and compares them with those of Schwarzschild and cosmological models, providing insights into their classical approximations.
Contribution
It introduces a method to find Newtonian limits of warp drive spacetimes and applies it to various solutions, including Schwarzschild and Friedmann-Robertson-Walker models.
Findings
Warp drive spacetimes possess well-defined Newtonian limits.
The method successfully computes Newtonian limits for different spacetime solutions.
Insights into classical approximations of exotic spacetimes are provided.
Abstract
We find a class of warp drive spacetimes possessing Newtonian limits, which we then determine. The same method is used to compute Newtonian limits of the Schwarzschild solution and spatially flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker cosmological models.
