TL;DR
This paper investigates static cylindrical shells made of massive particles, matching different Levi-Civita space-times, and analyzes their energy conditions under various equations of state.
Contribution
It provides new solutions for cylindrical shells with isotropic or anisotropic matter, expanding understanding of their physical viability.
Findings
Solutions satisfy energy conditions within specific parameter ranges.
Both isotropic and anisotropic equations of state are considered.
Matching different Levi-Civita space-times yields physically plausible shells.
Abstract
Static cylindrical shells composed of massive particles arising from matching of two different Levi-Civita space-times are studied for the shell satisfying either isotropic or anisotropic equation of state. We find that these solutions satisfy the energy conditions for certain ranges of the parameters.
