TL;DR
This paper reviews how black hole quasinormal modes can be used to derive Bekenstein-Hawking entropy within Loop Quantum Gravity and discusses recent related proposals involving rotation and supersymmetry.
Contribution
It introduces a method linking quasinormal mode spectra to black hole entropy in Loop Quantum Gravity and comments on recent advances involving rotating black holes and supersymmetry.
Findings
Quasinormal modes relate to black hole entropy in Loop Quantum Gravity.
Recent proposals extend the spectrum analysis to rotating black holes.
Supersymmetry inclusion is discussed as a future direction.
Abstract
We review an idea that uses details of the quasinormal mode spectrum of a black hole to obtain the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of in Loop Quantum Gravity. We further comment on a recent proposal concerning the quasinormal mode spectrum of rotating black holes. We conclude by remarking on a recent proposal to include supersymmetry.
