Quantizing speeds with the cosmological constant
Florian Girelli, Etera R. Livine

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that in a quantum gravity model with a positive cosmological constant, particle speeds become quantized, leading to a deformed Poincare symmetry and new physical insights.
Contribution
It introduces the concept of speed quantization in the Barrett-Crane spin foam model with a cosmological constant and explores its physical implications.
Findings
Speeds are quantized in the model.
An effective deformed Poincare symmetry emerges.
Implications for quantum gravity and cosmology.
Abstract
Considering the Barrett-Crane spin foam model for quantum gravity with (positive) cosmological constant, we show that speeds must be quantized and we investigate the physical implications of this effect such as the emergence of an effective deformed Poincare symmetry.
