Quantum Geometric Description of Cosmological Models
G. Date

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent developments in Loop Quantum Cosmology, highlighting how quantum geometric methods provide new insights into the early universe and quantum gravity effects.
Contribution
It summarizes Martin Bojowald's recent work on applying loop quantum gravity techniques to cosmological models.
Findings
Quantum geometry modifies classical cosmological singularities.
Loop quantum cosmology predicts a bounce instead of a Big Bang.
Quantum effects become significant near the Planck scale.
Abstract
This is a written version of the review talk given at the meeting on "Interface of Gravitational and Quantum Realms" at IUCAA, Pune during December 2001. The talk reviewed the recent work of Martin Bojowald on Loop Quantum Cosmology.
