Gravity as a Bend of 4D Elastic Plate
Sergey S. Kokarev

TL;DR
This paper proposes a novel interpretation of gravity as the bending of a four-dimensional elastic plate, analyzing its implications through variational principles and discussing the resulting field equations and elastic constants.
Contribution
It introduces a new elastic model of space-time, deriving Einstein equations from the bending of a 4D elastic plate and estimating its elastic constants.
Findings
Gravity can be modeled as the bending of a 4D elastic plate.
Field lagrangians are consistent with the elastic bending approach.
Estimated elastic constants of space-time are provided.
Abstract
Gravity is treated as manifestation of bending of 4D plate at the variational functionals level. Some estimates of elastic constants of space-time are made. Field lagrangians and Einstein equations are discussed in view point of the approach.
