Relativistic static fluid spheres with a linear equation of state
B.V.Ivanov

TL;DR
This paper presents a unified approach to deriving solutions for relativistic static fluid spheres with a linear equation of state, introducing a new solution to replace the Whittaker solution.
Contribution
A unified method for deriving known solutions and a new solution for relativistic static fluid spheres with linear equations of state.
Findings
Most known solutions are derivable via a simple metric ansatz
A new solution replaces the Whittaker solution
The approach simplifies understanding of relativistic fluid sphere solutions
Abstract
It is shown that almost all known solutions of the kind mentioned in the title are easily derived in a unified manner when a simple ansatz is imposed on the metric. The Whittaker solution is an exception, replaced by a new solution with the same equation of state.
