Null Singularities in Colliding Waves
Ozay Gurtug, Mustafa Halilsoy

TL;DR
This paper explores conditions under which colliding Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar fields can produce null singularities instead of spacelike singularities, revealing new intermediate stages in the evolution of such spacetimes.
Contribution
It provides examples demonstrating that null singularities can form as intermediate stages, challenging the typical expectation of spacelike singularities in colliding wave scenarios.
Findings
Null singularities can occur as intermediate stages.
Examples show null singularities between spacelike singularities and regular horizons.
Challenges previous assumptions about singularity formation in colliding fields.
Abstract
Colliding Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar fields need not necessarily doomed to become in a spacelike singularity. Examples are given in which null singularities emerge as intermediate stages between a spacelike singularity and a regular horizon.
