Vacuum spacetimes with an isometry
Francesc Fayos, Carlos F. Sopuerta

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new formalism for analyzing vacuum spacetimes with an isometry by leveraging the algebraic structure of the exterior derivative of a Killing vector, which satisfies source-free Maxwell equations.
Contribution
It develops a novel formalism based on the algebraic properties of the Killing vector's exterior derivative for studying vacuum spacetimes with symmetries.
Findings
Provides a new mathematical framework for vacuum spacetimes with isometries
Links Killing vectors to Maxwell equations in vacuum spacetimes
Facilitates analysis of spacetime symmetries using algebraic methods
Abstract
In vacuum space-times the exterior derivative of a Killing vector field is a two-form that satisfies Maxwell equations without electromagnetic sources. Using the algebraic structure of this two-form we have set up a new formalism for the study of vacuum space-times with an isometry.
