Embedded Reflection Mapping
Paul Anderson, Goncalo Carvalho

TL;DR
This paper introduces a real-time method for reflecting users onto virtual objects in VR by using live video feeds, applicable in diverse indoor and outdoor environments.
Contribution
It presents a novel technique for real-time reflection mapping of users onto virtual objects using live video feeds in VR environments.
Findings
Enables real-time user reflection in virtual reality.
Works in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Uses live video feeds for dynamic reflections.
Abstract
Environment maps are used to simulate reflections off curved objects. We present a technique to reflect a user, or a group of users, in a real environment, onto a virtual object, in a virtual reality application, using the live video feeds from a set of cameras, in real-time. Our setup can be used in a variety of environments ranging from outdoor or indoor scenes.
