Bound states of interacting helium atoms
Stefan V. Mashkevich (ITP, Kiev), Stanislav I. Vilchynskyy (Kiev, University)

TL;DR
This paper investigates the potential for bound states of two interacting helium-4 atoms, revealing the existence of discrete energy levels and band structures similar to those in solid-state models.
Contribution
It demonstrates the theoretical possibility of bound states and band formations in helium-4 atom pairs for certain interaction potentials.
Findings
Existence of discrete energy levels for helium-4 atom pairs.
Presence of band structures analogous to the Kronig--Penney model.
Potential implications for understanding helium interactions.
Abstract
We study the possibility of existence of bound states for two interacting He-4 atoms. It is shown that for some potentials, there exist not only discrete levels but also bands akin to those in the Kronig--Penney model.
