Flat histogram Monte Carlo method
Jian-Sheng Wang

TL;DR
This paper presents a flat histogram Monte Carlo algorithm that, combined with transition matrix methods, efficiently computes the density of states and thermodynamic quantities across temperatures in a single simulation.
Contribution
It introduces a novel flat histogram Monte Carlo method integrated with transition matrix techniques for comprehensive thermodynamic analysis.
Findings
Accurately computes density of states and entropy.
Efficiently estimates free energy across temperatures.
Single simulation approach for multiple thermodynamic quantities.
Abstract
We discuss a sampling algorithm which generates flat histogram in energy. In combination with transition matrix Monte Carlo, the density of states and derived quantities such as entropy and free energy as a function of temperature can be computed in a single simulation.
