A pedagogical introduction to the replica method for fragile glasses
Giorgio Parisi

TL;DR
This paper provides a simplified pedagogical introduction to the replica method for analyzing the properties of fragile glasses at low temperatures, focusing on the internal energy at T=0.
Contribution
It offers an accessible explanation of the replica approach for fragile glasses, extending liquid theory tools without complex replica calculations.
Findings
Simplified computation of glass properties at low temperatures
Analysis of internal energy at T=0 without replicas
Extension of liquid theory tools to glassy systems
Abstract
In this note I present a simplified version of the recent computation (Mezard and Parisi 1998, 1999) of the properties of glasses in the low temperature phase in the framework of the replica theory, using an extension of the tools used in liquid theory. I will only consider here the case of the internal energy at T=0, which can be studied in a simple way without introducing replicas.
