M. Trzeciecki, W. H\"ubner

TL;DR
This paper classifies the nonlinear magneto-optical response at specific surfaces of fcc antiferromagnets like NiO, using bilayers as models for surface termination, extending previous work in the field.
Contribution
It provides a group-theoretical classification of second harmonic generation responses at (110) and (111) surfaces of antiferromagnets, focusing on bilayer models.
Findings
Classification of nonlinear responses at specific surfaces
Extension of previous theoretical work
Application to NiO surfaces
Abstract
Extending our previous work we classify the nonlinear magneto-optical response at low index surfaces of fcc antiferromagnets, such as NiO. Antiferromagnetic bilayers are discussed here as models for the termination of bulk antiferromagnets.
