Bound States in the Vortex Core
Irena Knezevic, Zoran Radovic (University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia)

TL;DR
This paper calculates the quasiparticle excitation spectrum in vortex cores of layered d-wave superconductors, revealing a large density of states peak consistent with experimental observations in high-temperature superconductors.
Contribution
It provides a theoretical calculation of the vortex core spectrum in layered d-wave superconductors, aligning with recent experimental data.
Findings
Large peak in the density of states in vortex core
Agreement with experimental data for high-temperature superconductors
Insight into quasiparticle excitations in vortex states
Abstract
The quasiparticle excitation spectrum of isolated vortices in clean layered d-wave superconductors is calculated. A large peak in the density of states in the "pancake" vortex core is found, in an agreement with the recent experimental data for high-temperature superconductors.
