The Haldane-Rezayi Quantum Hall State and Magnetic Flux
Kazusumi Ino

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the Haldane-Rezayi quantum Hall state, revealing stable flux configurations that unify its edge theory with the 331 state and proposing testable experimental predictions for the 5/2 plateau.
Contribution
It identifies stable flux configurations in the Haldane-Rezayi state and links them to its edge theory, offering new insights and testable predictions for quantum Hall experiments.
Findings
Stable configurations involve spontaneous flux of (a+1/2) a_0.
Edge theory becomes identical to the 331 state under these configurations.
Proposes experimental tests for the 5/2 quantum Hall plateau.
Abstract
We consider the general abelian background configurations for the Haldane-Rezayi quantum Hall state. We determine the stable configurations to be the ones with the spontaneous flux of with . This gives the physical mechanism by which the edge theory of the state becomes identical to the one for the 331 state. It also provides a new experimental consequence which can be tested in the enigmatic plateau in a single layer system.
