Patrick Bruno (MPI fuer Mikrostrukturphysik, Halle, Germany)

TL;DR
This paper develops a systematic method to calculate preasymptotic corrections to interlayer exchange coupling decay, including temperature effects, with applications to Co/Cu/Co(001) systems.
Contribution
It introduces a systematic procedure for calculating higher-order preasymptotic corrections to interlayer exchange coupling decay.
Findings
Preasymptotic corrections are significant for spacer thicknesses relevant in experiments.
Temperature influences the magnitude of preasymptotic corrections.
Application to Co/Cu/Co(001) systems demonstrates the method's practical relevance.
Abstract
In the asymptotic limit, the interlayer exchange coupling decays as , where is the spacer thickness. A systematic procedure for calculating the preasymptotic corrections, i.e., the terms of order with , is presented. The temperature dependence of the preasymptotic corrections is calculated. The results are used to discuss the preasymptotic corrections for the Co/Cu/Co(001) system.
