Acceleration of quasi-particle modes in Bose-Einstein condensates
Karl-Peter Marzlin, Weiping Zhang

TL;DR
This paper analytically investigates how quasi-particle modes in a Bose-Einstein condensate behave under weak acceleration, revealing that their momentum is squeezed instead of accelerated.
Contribution
It introduces an analytical framework showing that quasi-particle mode momentum undergoes squeezing rather than acceleration in a weakly accelerated Bose-Einstein condensate.
Findings
Quasi-particle mode momentum is squeezed under weak acceleration.
Analytical methods reveal non-intuitive mode dynamics.
Results contrast with classical expectations of acceleration.
Abstract
We analytically examine the dynamics of quasi-particle modes occuring in a Bose-Einstein condensate which is subject to a weak acceleration. It is shown that the momentum of a quasi-particle mode is squeezed rather than accelerated.
