Comment on "Temperature dependence of the Raman-active B_{1g} and A_{1g} modes in YNi_2B_2C"
A.P. Litvinchuk

TL;DR
This paper critically examines and disputes prior claims about electron-phonon coupling and phonon modes in YNi_2B_2C, arguing that the experimental data do not support those conclusions.
Contribution
It challenges previous interpretations of Raman spectroscopy data on YNi_2B_2C, providing a critical analysis of earlier claims.
Findings
Prior conclusions about electron-phonon coupling are unsupported by data
Existence of two boron-related symmetric phonon modes is not justified
Previous analysis of temperature dependence is questioned
Abstract
Both principal conclusions of Hirata and Takeya paper (Phys. Rev. B 57, 2671 (1998)) dealing with an analysis of the electron-phonon coupling strengths and stating the existence of two boron-related fully symmetric phonon modes in YNi_2B_2C are argued not to be supported by experimental data and not justified.
