Photodissociation in Quantum Chaotic Systems: Random Matrix Theory of Cross-Section Fluctuations
Yan V. Fyodorov, Yoram Alhassid

TL;DR
This paper develops a random matrix theory framework to analyze fluctuations in photodissociation cross sections within quantum chaotic systems, providing universal statistical descriptions.
Contribution
It introduces a closed-form random matrix model for the autocorrelation and distribution of photodissociation cross sections in quantum chaos.
Findings
Derived universal autocorrelation function for cross sections
Obtained probability distribution of total photodissociation cross section
Validated the model's applicability to quantum chaotic systems
Abstract
Using the random matrix description of open quantum chaotic systems we calculate in closed form the universal autocorrelation function and the probability distribution of the total photodissociation cross section in the regime of quantum chaos.
