J. Hermisson (University of Tuebingen), U. Grimm (TU Chemnitz)

TL;DR
This paper investigates the surface and bulk properties of aperiodic Ising quantum chains with quenched disorder, using exact real space renormalization to analyze their critical behavior.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of the critical scaling behavior of surface and bulk quantities in aperiodic Ising chains with quenched disorder, based on general substitution rules.
Findings
Determined critical exponents for surface and bulk properties.
Identified how aperiodic disorder influences phase transition behavior.
Provided exact renormalization results for various substitution rules.
Abstract
We consider Ising quantum chains with quenched aperiodic disorder of the coupling constants given through general substitution rules. The critical scaling behaviour of several bulk and surface quantities is obtained by exact real space renormalization.
