Boris A. Ivanov, Alexei K. Kolezhuk (Institute of Magnetism, Kiev,, Ukraine)

TL;DR
This paper reviews the theoretical foundations of quantum spin tunneling in magnetic nanostructures, discussing models and recent advances in antiferromagnetic nanoparticles and topologically nontrivial magnetic systems.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive theoretical analysis of quantum tunneling phenomena in magnetic nanostructures, including new results on antiferromagnetic and topologically complex systems.
Findings
Quantum spin tunneling occurs in various magnetic nanostructures.
Recent results highlight tunneling in antiferromagnetic nanoparticles.
Topologically nontrivial magnetic structures exhibit unique tunneling behaviors.
Abstract
Theoretical foundations of the problem of quantum spin tunneling in magnetic nanostructures are presented. Several model problems are considered in detail, including recent new results on tunneling in antiferromagnetic nanoparticles and topologically nontrivial magnetic structures in systems with reduced dimension.
