Comment on "Single Hole Dynamics in the CuO$_2$ Plane at Half Filling"
Roland Fehrenbacher

TL;DR
This paper critically examines recent photoemission data on Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2, questioning the extraction of the O 2p hopping integral and cautioning against overinterpreting line-width analyses for scattering mechanisms.
Contribution
It provides a critical analysis of experimental data, highlighting limitations in deducing hopping parameters and scattering insights from line-widths.
Findings
Questioned the accuracy of $t_{pp}$ values derived from experiments
Warned against overinterpreting line-widths for scattering mechanisms
Emphasized the need for careful data interpretation in cuprate studies
Abstract
In a recent letter, Pothuizen et al. reported angle-resolved photoemission data on the single-layer insulating cuprate Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2. This comment addresses the issue whether it is possible to deduce an accurate value for the O 2p hopping integral from these experiments, and also cautions against drawing conclusions concerning scattering mechanisms in the CuO_2 plane from a line-width analysis.
