Contribution
It introduces a detailed theoretical model linking noise spectral density to transport parameters and photon flux fluctuations in quantum well infrared photodetectors.
Findings
Derived expressions for noise gain and photocurrent gain.
Quantified the impact of photon flux fluctuations on noise.
Provided a framework for noise analysis in quantum well detectors.
Abstract
The spectral density of current fluctuations in single quantum well infrared photodetectors is calculated using Langevin approach. The noise gain and the photocurrent gain are expressed in terms of basic transport parameters. Fluctuations of the incident photon flux are taken into account.
