Phase Diagram of the Two Dimensional Lattice Coulomb Gas
Pramod Gupta, S. Teitel

TL;DR
This study uses Monte Carlo simulations to explore the phase diagram of a 2D lattice Coulomb gas, revealing that the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition persists at higher charge densities than previously theorized.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed phase diagram of the 2D lattice Coulomb gas using numerical simulations, challenging existing theoretical estimates.
Findings
Kosterlitz-Thouless transition persists at higher densities
Phase diagram mapped as a function of density and temperature
Simulation results differ from recent theoretical predictions
Abstract
We use Monte Carlo simulations to map out the phase diagram of the two dimensional Coulomb gas on a square lattice, as a function of density and temperature. We find that the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition remains up to higher charge densities than has been suggested by recent theoretical estimates.
