Is there an exponentially large Kondo screening cloud ?
Erik Sorensen (IU Bloomington), Ian Affleck (UBC)

TL;DR
This paper proposes a scaling conjecture for the size of the Kondo screening cloud around an impurity spin, and tests it numerically using the Density Matrix Renormalization Group method.
Contribution
It introduces a new scaling conjecture for the Kondo screening cloud and validates it through numerical simulations.
Findings
Supports the proposed scaling conjecture
Provides numerical evidence for the size of the Kondo cloud
Enhances understanding of impurity screening in quantum systems
Abstract
We make a precise scaling conjecture, based on renormalization group ideas, regarding the screening cloud around an impurity spin in the Kondo effect and test it numerically using the Density Matrix Renormalization Group method.
