Jaya Maji, Somendra M. Bhattacharjee

TL;DR
This paper identifies a nonequilibrium tricritical point in a one-dimensional asymmetric exclusion process caused by repulsive interactions, revealing phase diagram features and shock formation behavior.
Contribution
It demonstrates the existence of a nonequilibrium tricritical point induced by repulsive interactions in a 1D asymmetric exclusion process, linking particle-hole symmetry breaking to phase transitions.
Findings
Existence of a nonequilibrium tricritical point due to repulsion.
Phase diagram characterized near the tricritical point.
Crossover behavior in shock formation at boundaries.
Abstract
We show the existence of a nonequilibrium tricritical point induced by a repulsive interaction in one dimensional asymmetric exclusion process. The tricritical point is associated with the particle-hole symmetry breaking introduced by the repulsion. The phase diagram and the crossover in the neighbourhood of the tricritical point for the shock formation at one of the boundaries are determined.
