TL;DR
This paper investigates how anisotropic quasiparticle scattering affects superfluid 3He in aerogel, revealing stable phases at low temperatures and high pressure, advancing understanding of superfluid behavior in disordered media.
Contribution
It introduces an experimental approach to study anisotropic scattering effects on superfluid 3He in aerogel, highlighting the existence of stable phases at low temperatures.
Findings
Identification of two stable superfluid phases below transition temperature
Observation of phase stability at high pressure and low temperature
Evidence of anisotropic scattering influence on superfluid phases
Abstract
We have designed an experiment to study the role of global anisotropic quasiparticle scattering on the dirty aerogel superfluid 3He system. We observe significant regions of two stable phases at temperatures below the superfluid transition at a pressure of 25 bar for a 98% aerogel.
