Interplay of Ehrenfest time and dephasing time in ballistic conductors
Alexander Altland, Piet W. Brouwer, and Chushun Tian

TL;DR
This paper investigates how quantum interference corrections in ballistic conductors are affected when the Ehrenfest time and dephasing time are similar, highlighting the interplay between classical and quantum effects in transport.
Contribution
It analyzes the combined influence of Ehrenfest time and dephasing time on quantum interference corrections in ballistic conductors, a previously less explored regime.
Findings
Quantum interference corrections are significantly affected when Ehrenfest and dephasing times are comparable.
The study provides insights into the transition between quantum coherent and classical transport regimes.
Results suggest new conditions for observing quantum effects in ballistic conductors.
Abstract
Quantum interference corrections in ballistic conductors require a minimal time: the Ehrenfest time. In this letter, we investigate the fate of the interference corrections to quantum transport in bulk ballistic conductors if the Ehrenfest time and the dephasing time are comparable.
