Energy transport by classical waves through multilayers of diffusing slabs
Sijmen Gerritsen, Gerrit E.W. Bauer

TL;DR
This paper investigates how interfaces affect classical wave propagation in layered diffusing media, introducing a resistor model and deriving an expression for interface resistance to better understand energy transport.
Contribution
It presents a novel resistor model for wave energy transport and derives a microscopic expression for interface resistance in layered media.
Findings
Interface effects significantly influence wave energy transport.
A resistor model effectively describes energy flow in layered diffusing media.
Derived microscopic expression quantifies interface resistance.
Abstract
We describe the effect of interfaces on classical wave propagation through diffusing layered media. A series resistor model for wave energy transport is introduced and we derive a microscopic expression for the interface resistance.
