K.G. Dergachev, M.I. Kobets, E.N. Khatsko

TL;DR
This study uses electron paramagnetic resonance to analyze KYb(MoO4)2 crystal, identifying Yb3+ centers, their local symmetry, and magnetic properties, revealing anisotropic g-factors and peculiar absorption behaviors.
Contribution
First detailed EPR analysis of KYb(MoO4)2 revealing local symmetry and Yb3+ centers, with insights into magnetic anisotropy and spectral peculiarities.
Findings
Identified two nonequivalent Yb3+ centers in ac-plane.
Determined g-factors along principal axes.
Observed peculiar frequency-field dependence in H|| b orientation.
Abstract
The electron paramagnetic resonance investigations of the magnetically concentrated crystal of KYb(MoO4)2 have been performed. The main value of g-factors along principal local axes was determinate. The two nonequivalent Yb3+ centers were found in ac-plane. It is shown that local symmetry of Yb3+ ion in ac-plane is not higher than rhombic. Some peculiarities in the frequency-field dependence of an absorption line was found in H|| b orientation.
