Holger Stark (1), Michael Reichert (1), Jerome Bibette (2) ((1), Universitaet Konstanz, (2) ESPCI Paris)

TL;DR
This paper investigates the rotational diffusion behavior of a two-particle chain, deriving measurable time-correlation functions to understand hydrodynamic interactions under lubrication theory conditions.
Contribution
It provides a theoretical framework for analyzing coupled rotational diffusion in particle chains using the Smoluchowski equation.
Findings
Derived explicit time-correlation functions for particle chains.
Explored hydrodynamic interactions in the lubrication limit.
Provided a basis for experimental measurement of rotational dynamics.
Abstract
We study the coupled rotational diffusion in a two-particle chain on the basis of a Smoluchowski equation and calculate time-correlation functions that are measurable in an experiment. This might be used to explore hydrodynamic interactions in the limit where lubrication theory is valid.
