TL;DR
This paper clarifies recent experimental results on V₂O₃, discusses their theoretical interpretation, comments on x-ray dichroism experiments, and offers personal insights on the role of non-local correlations in its insulating ground state.
Contribution
It provides clarification of experimental interpretations and discusses the significance of non-local correlations in V₂O₃'s insulating phase.
Findings
Clarification of x-ray scattering experimental results
Comment on K edge linear dichroism experiments
Opinion on non-local correlations in V₂O₃
Abstract
This note summarizes some recently published results, that are reported in cond-mat today. Its aim is twofold. First, I believe that it is worthwhile to clarify the theoretical interpretation of a series of x-ray scattering experimental results, whose implications are apparently not well-known in the recent literature. A comment about K edge linear dichroism experiments is also provided. In second place, I would like to add a personal opinion about the role of non-local correlations in the insulating ground-state of VO.
