Marek W. Gutowski, Lajos K. Varga, Attila K\'akay

TL;DR
This paper introduces a simplified Preisach-like model for magnetic hysteresis that uses only two functions to uniquely describe reversible and irreversible processes, challenging the sufficiency of the major hysteresis loop for characterization.
Contribution
It presents a novel, simplified model replacing the two-dimensional Preisach density with two functions, providing a unique characterization of hysteretic systems.
Findings
The model simplifies hysteresis characterization.
Major hysteresis loop alone is insufficient for unique Preisach map.
The model effectively describes magnetic hysteresis processes.
Abstract
Proposed is a substantially simplified, Preisach-like model for characterization of hysteretic systems, in particular magnetic systems. The main idea is to replace a two-dimensional Preisach density with just two real functions, describing in a {\em unique way} the reversible and irreversible processes. As a byproduct of our model we prove, that the major hysteresis loop alone is insufficient to produce the unique Preisach map. Keywords: magnetic hysteresis; magnetization processes; materials testing; modeling.
