Magnetic flux induced spin polarization in semiconductor multichannel rings with Rashba spin orbit coupling
G. S. Lozano, M. J. S\'anchez

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that magnetic flux in semiconductor rings with Rashba spin-orbit coupling causes spin accumulation at the edges without external electric fields, revealing a novel spin polarization mechanism.
Contribution
It introduces the concept of magnetic flux-induced spin polarization in multichannel semiconductor rings with Rashba interaction, a new mechanism not previously explored.
Findings
Magnetic flux induces spin accumulation at the edges.
Spin polarization occurs without external electric fields.
The effect is significant in multichannel semiconductor rings.
Abstract
We show that a finite magnetic flux threading a multichannel semiconductor ring induces spin accumulation at the borders of the sample when the Rashba spin-orbit interaction is taken into account even in the absence of external electric fields.
