Fourier's Law in a Quantum Spin Chain and the Onset of Quantum Chaos
Carlos Mejia-Monasterio, Tomaz Prosen, Giulio Casati

TL;DR
This paper investigates heat transport in a quantum spin chain, demonstrating Fourier's law validity and linking the onset of normal conductivity to the transition into quantum chaos.
Contribution
It provides numerical evidence connecting Fourier's law to quantum chaos in an interacting spin chain, highlighting the transition to normal conductivity.
Findings
Fourier's law holds in the studied quantum spin chain.
Normal conductivity regime emerges at the quantum chaos transition.
Numerical analysis confirms the link between quantum chaos and heat transport.
Abstract
We study heat transport in a nonequilibrium steady state of a quantum interacting spin chain. We provide clear numerical evidence of the validity of Fourier law. The regime of normal conductivity is shown to set in at the transition to quantum chaos.
