Comments on "Dimerization Induced by the RKKY Interaction"
Naokazu Shibata, Chisa Hotta

TL;DR
This paper critically examines claims of a dimerized insulating state in a 1D Kondo lattice model, demonstrating that the observed correlations are algebraic and the charge gap disappears in the thermodynamic limit.
Contribution
It challenges previous assertions by showing that the dimerization is not stable and the system remains metallic in the bulk limit.
Findings
Dimer-dimer correlations decay algebraically at long distances
Charge gap vanishes in the thermodynamic limit
The purported insulating dimer state is not stable
Abstract
Recently, Xavier et al. claimed the existence of an insulating spin dimer state in the one-dimensional Kondo lattice model at quarter-filling amidst the paramagnetic metallic phase. In this comment we show that the dimer-dimer correlation decays algebraically at long distances and the charge gap vanishes in the bulk limit.
