Half-skyrmion picture of single hole doped high-T_c cuprate
Takao Morinari

TL;DR
This paper models the spin configuration around a doped hole in high-T_c cuprates using a half-skyrmion framework, revealing similarities in excitation spectra with the -flux phase, advancing understanding of magnetic properties in these materials.
Contribution
It introduces a half-skyrmion description for the spin structure around a doped hole, connecting it to known excitation spectra in high-T_c cuprates.
Findings
Spin configuration around a Zhang-Rice singlet is a half-skyrmion.
Excitation spectrum matches that of the -flux phase.
Provides a new perspective on magnetic excitations in doped cuprates.
Abstract
The single hole doped CuO_2 plane is studied by the O(3) non-linear \sigma model and its CP^1 representation. It is argued that the spin configuration around a Zhang-Rice singlet is described by a half-skyrmion. The form of the excitation spectrum of the half-skyrmion is the same as that in the \pi-flux phase.
