Comment on "Spin-split two-dimensional electron gas perturbed by intense terahertz laser field"
J. L. Cheng

TL;DR
This paper critiques a previous study by identifying errors in the foundational wavefunctions used, emphasizing the importance of correct basis functions in modeling spin-split two-dimensional electron gases under intense terahertz laser fields.
Contribution
It corrects the wavefunctions used in a prior work, providing the accurate basis for future research on spin-split electron gases under strong laser perturbations.
Findings
Incorrect wavefunctions identified in previous work
Provision of correct time-dependent wavefunctions
Implications for modeling spin-split electron gases
Abstract
We show that the time-dependent wavefunctions which serve as basis of the whole paper of Xu [Phys. Rev. B {\bf 70}, 193301 (2004)] are incorrect and point out the right ones.
