On the mechanical properties of matter waves
Nicholas K Whitlock, Stephen M Barnett, John Jeffers

TL;DR
This paper explores the mechanical properties of matter waves, deriving continuity equations and flux expressions to understand their conserved quantities in a semiclassical framework.
Contribution
It introduces a semiclassical approach to describe the conserved mechanical properties and fluxes of matter waves, extending classical conservation laws to quantum wave phenomena.
Findings
Derived general expressions for fluxes of conserved properties
Established continuity equations for matter waves
Provided a semiclassical framework for matter wave properties
Abstract
Electromagnetic waves and fluids have locally conserved mechanical properties associated with them and we may expect these to exist for matter waves. We present a semiclassical description of the continuity equations relating to these conserved properties of matter waves and derive a general expression for their respective fluxes.
