Number distributions for fermions and fermionized bosons in periodic potentials
Michael Budde, Klaus M{\o}lmer

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the spatial population statistics of one-dimensional fermionic and fermionized bosonic gases in periodic potentials, examining how these statistics depend on density and potential dynamics.
Contribution
It provides new calculations of population statistics for fermions and hard-core bosons in periodic potentials, including dynamical potential turn-on effects.
Findings
Statistics depend on atomic density in the ground state
Dynamical effects of turning on the potential are characterized
Results enhance understanding of quantum gases in periodic structures
Abstract
We compute the spatial population statistics for one-dimensional fermi-gases and for bose-gases with hard core repulsions in periodic potentials. We show how the statistics depend on the atomic density in the ground state of the system, and we present calculations for the dynamical turn-on of the potential.
