Vacancy-Impurity Nanoclusters in Solid Solutions $^3He - ^4He$
Dimitar I. Pushkarov

TL;DR
This paper investigates quantum vacancy-impurity clusters in solid helium solutions, proposing a vacancy-assisted nucleation mechanism and predicting b.c.c. structure for these clusters.
Contribution
It introduces the concept of vacancy-impurity clusters in quantum solid solutions and proposes a new vacancy-assisted nucleation mechanism.
Findings
Vacancy-impurity clusters exist in phase-separated 3He-4He solutions.
Proposes vacancy-assisted nucleation as a new mechanism.
Clusters are predicted to have b.c.c. structure.
Abstract
The existence of vacancy--impurity clusters due to quantum properties of vacancies in phase separated solid solutions of 4He in 3He is analyzed and discussed. Additional mechanism called vacancy assisted nucleation is proposed. According to this assumption the vacancy-impurity clusters should have b.c.c. structure.
