Vortex Penetration in Magneto-Superconducting Heterostructures
Serkan Erdin

TL;DR
This paper investigates vortex penetration in magneto-superconducting heterostructures, analyzing vortex barriers and spontaneous vortex creation in bilayers and dot-on-film systems using London theory.
Contribution
It provides a quantitative analysis of vortex entry and conditions for spontaneous vortex creation in heterostructures with magnetic and superconducting layers.
Findings
Vortex entry is governed by a Bean-Livingston-like barrier influenced by magnetization and Ginzburg parameter.
Conditions for spontaneous vortex creation depend on magnetization and dot position.
Vortex positions are determined for various magnetization and placement scenarios.
Abstract
We report our results on vortex penetration in two realizations of heterogeneos magneto-superconducting systems (HMSS) based on London approach; semi-infinite ferromagnetic(FM)-superconducting(SC) bilayers and a FM dot on a semi-infinite SC film. In the first case, we study quantitatively the vortex entry in FM-SC bilayers which manifests Bean-Livingston-like vortex barrier, controlled by FM film's magnetization and SC film's Ginzburg parameter . In the second case, we investigate the conditions for sponteneous vortex creation and determine the position of vortex for various values of magnetization and the dot's position.
