Comment on "Effects of Point Defects on the Phase Diagram of Vortex States in High-Tc Superconductors in the B || c Axis"
P. Olsson, S. Teitel

TL;DR
This paper critiques a recent simulation study on vortex states in high-temperature superconductors, clarifying the nature of the vortex slush state and arguing its instability in large systems.
Contribution
It provides a critical analysis of the vortex slush state, challenging previous claims about its stability in the thermodynamic limit.
Findings
Vortex slush state is unstable in the thermodynamic limit.
Clarification of the nature of vortex states in the 3D XY model.
Critique of previous simulation results on vortex phase stability.
Abstract
We comment on a recent work by Nonomura and Hu who simulated the 3D XY model for a type-II superconductor in an applied magnetic field, in the presence of uncorrelated point randomness. We clarify the nature of the "vortex slush" state that they found, and argue that this state is unstable in the thermodynamic limit.
